The European Union (EU) is preparing for war with Russia and is trying to use Serbia for this purpose, pushing it to choose a side in the conflict. This was stated by former Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vulin on December 15.

"The European Union is preparing for war with Russia, but it would like others to die in this war," TASS quoted Vulin as saying.

He made this statement in response to a call from the European Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, that it was "time for Serbia to choose a side." According to Vulin, the European Commissioner is pushing Serbia towards a war in which the country does not participate.

"Marta Kos believes that if she can influence the choice of members of the Serbian government or the demands of demonstrators in Serbia, she can also influence the Serbs, <...> that the time has come to choose a side in a conflict in which we are not involved," the former deputy prime minister said.

Luxembourg's MEP Fernand Kartheiser said on December 3 that some leaders of the European Union (EU) were deliberately prolonging the conflict in Ukraine, seeking to turn the union into a military alliance and strengthen the powers of the European Commission (EC). It is noteworthy that the EU demonstrates selectivity in the issue of territorial integrity, putting the principles that it is ready to defend for Ukraine higher than for Serbia or Cyprus.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the words of Serbian President Alexander Vucic about the preparation of EU countries for a possible conflict with Russia, said that Moscow sees Europe preparing for war with Russia. According to him, "this leads to an overstrain of the economy and will have more severe consequences in the medium term."
