Young Russians are increasingly postponing relationships due to constant employment and emotional overload. According to Larisa Karavaitseva, chief psychologist at Twinby dating service, work for people under the age of 35 becomes not just a source of income, but a way to maintain a sense of stability in the face of uncertainty.

"When the world around you is unstable, work gives you a sense of control: I'm busy, I'm needed, I'm doing something right. Relationships require a pause, attention, and emotional engagement, which is what most often lacks the strength to do," the expert explained.

The psychologist noted that the boundaries between work and personal life among young people have almost disappeared. Work messages arrive in the evenings and on weekends, which is why a person is physically at home, but psychologically remains in working mode.

"Over time, relationships begin to be perceived not as a source of support, but as an additional burden. Not because they are difficult, but because a person no longer has a free emotional space for intimacy," the psychologist emphasized.

According to her, a prolonged shift in focus solely on career can lead to feelings of loneliness, emotional exhaustion, and a sense of "emptiness" even against the background of external success.

"It's important not to wait for the perfect moment when the work is done. As a rule, it does not happen. Proximity and support do not take away a resource — in many cases they return it and make a person more resilient," Larisa Karavaytseva concluded.
