A procedural check has been organized in the Verkhnebureinsky district of the Khabarovsk Territory on the fact of a drunken accident involving an ambulance, as a result of which five people were injured. This is reported by the SU IC of Russia for the Khabarovsk Territory and the Jewish Autonomous Region.
The accident occurred last week, on December 11, on Stroitelnaya Street in the village of Chegdomyn. According to preliminary data released two days later in the traffic police, the driver of a Mitsubishi Pajero drove to the intersection at a traffic light, but did not miss the ambulance. The cars collided.
As a result of the accident, the driver of the Gazelle and two medics, as well as the driver of the SUV and his passenger, were injured. Those in the ambulance were treated on an outpatient basis. According to the prosecutor's office, the patient who was transported by medics was not injured, he was taken to the hospital in another car.
The Mitsubishi was driven by a 40-year-old resident of the village of Veseloe, who does not have a driver's license. The medical facility confirmed that he was drunk at the time of the incident (0.514 mg/l of ethyl alcohol vapor in the exhaled air).
A check has been organized on the fact of the accident. The head of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, instructed to report on its preliminary and final results. The circumstances are being investigated.
The accident in question occurred on Thursday, December 11. On Friday and Saturday, traffic inspectors identified 31 drunk drivers on the roads of the region, more than 40 people got behind the wheel without a driver's license. According to the PrimaMedia news agency, large-scale raids took place on the roads a week before. From December 5 to December 7, 70 drunk motorists were detained.
