American billionaire Bill Ekman donated $100,000 to the man who disarmed one of the two terrorists during the shooting in Sydney. This was reported on December 14 by the Bloobmerg agency.
"The main sponsor of the GoFundMe page created for the hero who defused the shooter is Ekman, who donated $99,999," the publication says.
It is noted that currently the total amount of donations has exceeded $170 thousand.
On December 14, criminals opened fire on people near Bondi Beach in Sydney during an event dedicated to the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah. As a result of the incident, 12 people were killed and 29 others were injured. One of the armed criminals was shot dead, and the second was treated. The third attacker surrendered to the police.
On the same day, it became known that the passerby who took the weapon from one of the terrorists during the attack was the owner of a fruit store, Ahmed Al-Ahmed. He himself received two bullet wounds and is in the hospital.
