The Russian delegation arrived in Washington to participate in the first meeting of the Sherpa Group of Twenty (G20) under the chairmanship of the United States. This was announced on December 14 by the Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Marat Berdyev.
"The US presidency of the Group of Twenty begins its work in 2026. On December 15-16, the first meetings of sherpas and financial representatives of the members of this forum will be held in Washington in parallel. A Russian delegation led by our country's sherpa Svetlana Lukash has arrived in the American capital," the diplomat wrote on his Telegram channel.
He specified that the accompanying persons included sherpas, employees of the Presidential Administration, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Finance and the Russian Embassy in Washington.
The program of meetings will include discussions on key economic and financial issues related to cooperation between the G20 countries.
Earlier, on December 6, it was reported that Russia had entered the top three among the G20 countries in terms of electricity availability. It is clarified that Saudi Arabia is in the first place in terms of the cost of kWh of households, where the price is $ 0.05. Turkey took the second place with an indicator of $ 0.066, and Russia is in the third position with a price of 5.26 rubles per kWh, which is equivalent to $ 0.068.
