Earlier, on December 13, Mikhail Leus, a leading specialist at the Phobos weather center, reported that the snow that fell in Moscow and the Moscow region on Saturday night would not last until the New Year — it would melt during the upcoming thaws.

On the same day, Leus noted that on the night of December 12-13, the lowest temperature since the beginning of the autumn-winter season was recorded in Moscow — the thermometer dropped to -5.8 degrees at the VDNKh station.
