The US position on the issue of a peaceful solution to the conflict in Ukraine is resolute and close to reality, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov gave this assessment on December 14.

"Washington's position is very important here. We see that she is very, very determined, she is realistic, she is pragmatic," the Russian leader's press secretary told journalist Pavel Zarubin.

At the same time, Moscow focuses on Washington in resolving the conflict, and not on the opinions of European leaders.

"The Europeans are playing their own game. It still looks like they want the war to continue, but here we are more focused, of course, on our counterparts from Washington," Peskov said.

On December 14, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky began a meeting in Berlin with US President Donald Trump's special envoy Stephen Witkoff and the American leader's son-in-law Jared Kushner.

On the same day, Zelensky admitted that everyone, including the United States, would not like the final version of the peace plan at once, so the Kiev authorities are ready to compromise. This is how he commented on Trump's words that, unlike the Kiev delegation, he did not like the version of the agreement.
