- More than 330 thousand residents of the Kherson region were left without electricity due to the Ukrainian Armed Forces strike
Over 330,000 subscribers in the Kherson region were left without electricity due to damage to the Dzhankoy - Melitopol high–voltage transmission line as a result of a strike by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was announced on December 14 by the governor of the region, Vladimir Saldo.
"Last night, the enemy's dastardly strike on the energy infrastructure damaged the Dzhankoy–Melitopol high-voltage power transmission line. As a result, more than 330,000 residents of the Kherson region were left without electricity," he wrote on his Telegram channel.
According to Baldo, residents of 450 settlements in 14 municipalities of the region were left without electricity. Thanks to the prompt work of the specialists of the Black Sea Regional Dispatching Department (RDU), the power supply was restored at night according to a backup scheme. The phased connection of subscribers to the electric grid also continued.
The Governor thanked the power engineers and all operational services for their well-coordinated work during the night shift.
The day before, the Governor of the Zaporizhia region, Yevgeny Balitsky, announced that electricity had been cut off in several settlements of the Zaporizhia region. He appealed to the residents of the settlements with a request to be patient and assured that the operational teams are already switching to backup power sources.
