Blinovskaya's lawyer denied rumors about the blogger's privileges in the colony

Blogger Elena Blinovskaya, convicted of tax evasion and money laundering, who has been transferred to the detachment of the women's correctional colony No. 1 in the Vladimir region, is serving a court-ordered sentence without any privileges. Her lawyer Natalia Salnikova told about it on December 14.

"Numerous reports about Elena Blinovskaya's privileges during her detention, and even more so now, while serving her sentence in a penal colony, are fake from beginning to end. Unverified information and rumors are constantly refuted by both the defense and the Federal Penitentiary Service, but for some reason they continue to appear over and over again. Elena is being properly punished and is sincerely trying to show the whole society that she is worthily going through this path," the lawyer told the TASS news agency.

She clarified that Blinovskaya does not have any privileges either in the places of detention where she was held after the verdict, or in the colony where she was transferred to serve her sentence.

According to Salnikova, every sensation about a blogger in the media with unverified information and links to dubious sources increases the citation index of fake news authors, while complicating the process of serving a prisoner's sentence.

Earlier, on December 12, the press service of the Federal Penitentiary Service for the Vladimir region told Izvestia that information about Blinovskaya's presence in a "criminal" squad in a women's penal colony was not true. Earlier, information appeared on the Web that Blinovskaya was allegedly transferred to a "thug" squad in a women's colony.
