Italy has expressed its readiness to send military personnel to participate in the international stabilization force in the Gaza Strip. This was announced on December 13 by the Ynet portal.

"Italy has already expressed its readiness to send troops to the Gaza Strip," the publication says.

It is clarified that this decision is due to the fact that the United States is having difficulty recruiting Arab and Muslim soldiers for the second phase of the "20-point plan" of American President Donald Trump and is putting pressure on European countries to join the mission.

It is planned to deploy stabilization forces in areas with a low concentration of Hamas members. In addition to Italy, France, Malta and even El Salvador are considering assistance, and in total more than 70 countries have received a request from the US State Department for military or financial support.

"Several American officials expressed hope to recruit up to 5,000 troops to the stabilization force early next year and increase their number to 10,000 by the end of 2026," the publication emphasized.

Earlier, on December 11, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said that Turkey was ready to send military personnel to the Gaza Strip if necessary. Fidan also noted that negotiations on these issues are ongoing, and stated that Turkey is ready to "send troops to achieve peace in the region, if necessary."
