Electricity supply has been restored in most of the settlements of the Penza region affected by the weather. This was announced on December 14 by the governor of the region Oleg Melnichenko.
"During the day, power supply was restored in most of the affected settlements – 125 out of 166. The number of houses without electricity has decreased sevenfold – from 19 thousand to 2,852, 10 times the number of residents – from 76 thousand to 8 thousand," the Telegram channel says.
It is noted that 62 out of more than 200 socially significant facilities remain connected, eight out of 60 boiler houses, which are still running on gasoline generators.
It was clarified that the emergency groups have been increased to 86, seven of them will be sent to strengthen the Bessonovsky, Penza and Kolyshley districts.
The publication stated that 454 subscribers in the private sector remain without electricity in Penza.
The road services reported that the highways were completely cleared, and all medical institutions in the region are operating normally. Ambulance crews have been increased to 109.
"Medical assistance has been provided to the victims of a massive road accident on the Penza–Tambov highway, and people are already at home," the statement said.
It was noted that traffic on the highway has been fully restored.
At the Chais station, railway workers have begun lifting the derailed freight wagons, and they plan to complete the work by the middle of the next day. After that, the restoration of the paths will begin.
Earlier, on December 13, it was reported that more than 61 thousand residents of the Penza region were affected by power outages due to strong squally winds and sleet that damaged power lines. It was noted that in 11 municipalities of the region, more than 23 thousand houses remained without electricity supply.
Later it became known that six trains were delayed due to the derailment of 14 tanks with diesel fuel and fuel oil at the Chais station of the Kuibyshev railway. It is specified that trains traveling on these routes will bypass the barrier site through the stations of Syzran and Penza.
