On December 13, Russian speed skater Ksenia Korzhova qualified for the 2026 Olympic Games at a distance of 3,000 m following the results of the World Cup stages.
At the final stage of the competition in Hamar, Norway, the athlete scored 32 points, and in just four stages she earned 87 points, which allowed her to take 17th place in the long-distance ranking and become one of the holders of Olympic licenses, Sport-Express reported.
Earlier, Korzhova also won the 3000-meter race in the B division. The Olympic Games will be held from 6 to 22 February in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo.
Earlier, on May 13, it was reported that the International Skating Union (ISU) approved applications for participation in the qualifying tournament for the 2026 Olympic Games for 22 Russian figure skaters, speed skaters and short track skaters. Ksenia Korzhova was among the admitted skaters and short-track skaters.
