The situation at the front is very difficult for the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian forces Alexander Syrsky said on December 13.

"The operational situation remains difficult," he wrote on Facebook (owned by Meta, a company whose activities are recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).

Syrsky clarified that the Russian army is conducting an offensive along almost the entire line of contact, and on some days the number of clashes reaches 300. Against this background, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to experience an acute shortage of equipment, and the condition of the military does not correspond to combat.

Earlier on Saturday, Viktor Demidov, a militant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who surrendered to Russian soldiers of the Southern Group of Forces, said that the Ukrainian command sent military personnel to positions in the Seversk areas of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), without informing them that the settlement was already under the control of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on December 11 that the strategic initiative at the front is entirely in the hands of the Russian Armed Forces (AF). Along with this, the Russian leader noted the positive dynamics of the liberation of the territories of Donbass and Novorossiya, noting the commitment to the plan.
