An earthquake of magnitude 5.8 was recorded near the Aleutian Islands of Alaska, the German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ) reported on December 13.
The seismic event occurred at 13:50 Moscow time, its source lies at a depth of 10 km.
Information about casualties and destruction has not yet been received.
A day earlier, an earthquake of magnitude 5.8 was recorded 73 km from the North‑Kurilsk. According to the Kamchatka branch of the Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences, it occurred at 21:43 Moscow time (05:43 local time on 12/12/2025).
