A clinical psychologist spoke about the peculiarities of the alpha generation
Clinical psychologist Sergey Volkov believes that the alpha generation is unlikely to manage their finances well.
"Modern children grow up in an environment where economic skills are not being formed. They are used to neural networks making decisions for them. But financial responsibility requires personal engagement and critical thinking. By all indications, we are in for an era of personal economic collapse," says Volkov.
The expert believes that alpha will become ideal consumers of marketplaces and the gaming industry, but they will not be able to save for an apartment or get a mortgage. Alphas don't understand the real value of things and will be willing to take out any loan to meet spontaneous purchases. In addition, many modern children already have problems with attention, sleep and depression due to information overload and constant "sitting" in gadgets.
"The trouble is that representatives of the alpha generation will become the most educated generation in the history of mankind, but with the most undeveloped practical skills. According to the IEF, two thirds of the professions in which alphas will work have not even been invented yet. Advanced children learn for a world that doesn't exist yet," Volkov continues.
