The Russian Foreign Ministry pointed to Zelensky's desperate situation
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky is in a desperate situation in many aspects. This opinion was expressed on December 13 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.
"Zelensky understands that he has already been pushed to the wall in all respects — both in terms of the situation on the ground and on the battlefield," she said in an interview with TASS.
The diplomat noted that the Ukrainian leader was at an impasse not only at the front, but also inside the country, faced with the absolute distrust of citizens. According to her, Ukrainians leaving the country en masse also demonstrate this distrust. In this situation, as Zakharova emphasized, Zelensky "switched to blackmailing his Western curators."
On December 9, Russia's permanent representative to the United Nations (UN) Vasily Nebenzia said that Zelensky, with the help of the European Union (EU) countries, creates the appearance of his non-involvement in the corruption scandal in his country. He added that EU countries are also glossing over the repressive and authoritarian system of government that has emerged in Ukraine and led to the emergence of "thousands of political prisoners."
