Axios has learned about the readiness of the United States to provide guarantees to Ukraine as a member of NATO

The US administration is ready to provide Ukraine with security guarantees based on Article 5 of the NATO Charter. This was reported on December 13 by the Axios portal, citing sources in the White House.

"We want to provide Ukrainians with security guarantees that, on the one hand, will not be carte blanche, but on the other, will be reliable enough. We are ready to send them to Congress for a vote," the American official said.

According to him, it is planned to conclude three separate agreements within the framework of the peace agreement: on peace, security guarantees and reconstruction of Ukraine. According to the current proposal, the conflict will end if Ukraine is provided with "the greatest and most reliable security guarantees." The official noted that the recent negotiations gave the Ukrainian side a complete picture of the next steps.

On December 11, the Public television channel reported that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky had allowed the holding of an "all-Ukrainian referendum" on the issue of territories.
