NHL club Vancouver traded team captain Hughes to Minnesota

The NHL club Vancouver traded its captain, American defenseman Quinn Hughes, to Minnesota, receiving several players and the right to choose in the draft in return. This was announced on December 13 by the Minnesota press service.

"Thank you, Quinn, for your leadership, kindness, and unforgettable moments. From the very beginning of the game to the captain's armband, you left an indelible mark on the history of the Vancouver Canucks and among our fans. We wish you every success at Minnesota," the club's press service wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

According to the report, Vancouver has received defenseman Ziv Buyum, forwards Liam Egren and Marco Rossi, as well as the right to select in the first round of the 2026 draft.

Earlier, on December 4, the Buffalo Sabres lost to HC Philadelphia Flyers. The Philadelphia team won thanks to two assists from Russian forward Matvey Michkov.
