The State Duma told about receiving payments for the New Year
Employees with prescribed bonuses, pensioners and participants of regional support programs will be able to receive additional payments by the New Year. This was announced on December 13 by the chairman of the State Duma Committee on Property, Sergei Gavrilov.
He explained that there is no single federal New Year's payment, and the money at the end of the year comes from three sources — salaries and bonuses under employment contracts, pensions and benefits, as well as regional support measures.
"Those who have it explicitly provided for in the contract or local acts have the right to expect an annual or New Year's award," Gavrilov told TASS.
He also recalled that since September 2025, an updated bonus system has been in effect, obliging employers to clearly specify the terms and amounts of bonuses. He stressed that the reduction in income due to the reduction in premiums is limited and "gives the employee arguments in a dispute with the employer."
Earlier that day, it was reported that if wages are delayed for more than 15 days, an employee has the right to suspend work until the debt is fully repaid, with the exception of certain categories of employees. The State Duma clarified that any non-payment, including an advance and bonuses, is considered a delay, and citizens can contact Rostrud, the prosecutor's office or trade unions to protect their rights.
