On December 12, Russian boxer Murat Gassiev knocked out Bulgarian athlete Kubrat Pulev and became the winner of the World Boxing Association (WBA) regular heavyweight champion.

The competition was held as part of the tournament IBA.PRO 13 from Dubai. Gassiev won in the sixth round.

"32-year-old Gassiev won the 33rd victory in his career with two defeats, another fight was declared invalid. 44-year—old Pulev's record is 32 wins and four losses," Sport-Express notes.
