The Ministry of Internal Affairs has proposed to allow you to present your driver's license through MAX

Driver's licenses and registration documents can be equated to the original presentation when demonstrated via the MAX messenger. This was announced on December 12 by the Russian Interior Ministry.

The ministry clarified that the relevant draft government decree proposes to consider the information displayed in the information exchange service as equivalent to paper documents.

"The information will be presented using a two—dimensional barcode when interacting with the federal state information system Unified Portal of State and Municipal Services (Functions)," the Interior Ministry said.

They added that the initiative is aimed at simplifying procedures for drivers and further digitalizing the road safety system. The project is undergoing public discussion on a single portal of regulatory legal acts.
