The FSIN denied the information about Blinovskaya's transfer to the "criminal" squad in the colony.

Information about the presence of blogger Elena Blinovskaya in the "criminal" squad in the women's penal colony in the Vladimir region is not true. This was reported to Izvestia on December 12 by the press service of the FSIN department for the region.

Earlier, information appeared on the Web that Blinovskaya was allegedly transferred to a "thug" squad in a women's colony.

"The information that has spread on the Internet <...> that there are detachments with privileged conditions of detention of convicts in one of the correctional institutions of the Vladimir region does not correspond to reality," the message says.

The Ministry stressed that all convicts are held in strict accordance with the requirements of the penal enforcement legislation.

Blinovskaya was detained in April 2023 on suspicion of fraud for the purpose of non-payment of taxes. For about a year, the blogger was under house arrest. The Investigative Committee of Russia completed its investigation into the blogger on July 25, 2024. On August 30, she partially pleaded guilty to tax evasion. In November, she was declared bankrupt, after which the court began selling her property.

In March, the court found Blinovskaya guilty of tax evasion on an especially large scale, money laundering, and illegal circulation of funds. The blogger was sentenced to five years in a penal colony. On October 13, a correspondent for Izvestia reported that Blinovskaya's sentence had been changed. The court commuted her sentence from 5 years to 4.5 years.
