Russians often face a situation where there are only a few days left before the holidays, but there is still no New Year's mood. The reasons may be different: chronic fatigue, stress, lack of sleep, high workload at work or school. Social psychologist Maria Kamitsyna told Izvestia on December 17 how to create a New Year's mood if there is none at all.

According to her, there is a technique for switching attention that helps shift the focus from problems to pleasant experiences. To create a festive mood, it is important to use all the senses. Kamitsyna advises turning on New Year's music, making a themed playlist, decorating the house with garlands and toys in advance, using New Year's dishes, and creating a cozy evening with a blanket and a hot drink.

"Decorating a house can be perfectly combined with leisure: watch a movie about faith in a miracle, a snow fairy tale. In any case, such warming and atmospheric films will help you tune in to the right festive mood," the expert emphasized.

Kamitsyna added that a little household activity also contributes to the appearance of a New Year's feeling. Making a holiday preparation plan, assigning tasks, cleaning, getting rid of unnecessary things — all this helps to unload the mind and set yourself up for renewal. After cleaning, you can think of a festive outfit and an image for celebrating the New Year.

It is equally important to pay attention to rest. The psychologist reminds us that in the December rush it is easy to completely go into work, so the weekend should be used to recuperate.: get enough sleep, relax, or, conversely, go for walks and discover new places in the city. Visiting spaces with decorations and New Year's decor helps to quickly immerse yourself in the festive atmosphere.

"It is very important to be able to listen to yourself. Sometimes it's enough just to put things aside and let the holiday come to you through small and pleasant joys," Kamitsyna concluded.

On December 12, Yulia Malevannaya, General Director of the Autonomous Research Institute of Functional Nutrition, spoke about the preparation of the body for the New Year's feast. She recommended starting taking hepatoprotectors based on essential phospholipids, which help the liver cope with alcohol and food stress, 1-2 weeks before the New Year. According to the expert, phospholipids act as "building blocks" for the repair of liver cells, which experience maximum stress during the holidays.
