Muscovites were informed about light snow and rain on Friday.
Precipitation in the form of rain turning into sleet will take place in Moscow on Friday. This was announced on December 12 by the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia Roman Vilfand.
According to Wilfand, the snow will be light — about 3-4 cm, and it cannot be called completely winter.
"It is not associated with winter conditions when you can ski — no, it is not. But all the attributes of winter will already be present, more precisely on the ground. And low temperatures, already double-digit negative temperatures at night, and snow on the surface of the earth. So all the attributes are not on the face, but on the ground," the RIA Novosti forecaster noted.
He added that it is too early to talk about the formation of a stable snow cover, as much will depend on the temperature in the following days.
Earlier, on December 7, Wilfand reported that snow would not fall in Moscow until the end of the week due to warm southern air masses. According to his forecast, possible precipitation in the capital will be in the form of drizzle or light rain.
