The Russian Armed Forces evacuated civilians from Krasnoarmeysk to the DPR
Russian military personnel of the Center group of Forces of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation evacuated civilians from the city of Krasnoarmeysk in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). This was announced on December 12 by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
For more than 15 months, local residents were forced to take refuge in shelters from shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). After being evacuated, accompanied by Russian soldiers, they finally had the opportunity to reunite with their families and start a new life.
"Those guys who took us out... [call sign] Medusa, God bless him and all the other guys! They said, "we are responsible for you," and they did not take their eyes off us," Anatoly Shkola, a resident of Krasnoarmeysk, recalls with tears.
During the evacuation, the Russian military maintained constant contact with the headquarters and the cover group. From the air, the situation was monitored by reconnaissance drones of the unmanned systems troops.
After the civilians were taken to the temporary residence, they received the necessary assistance. At the moment, residents are undergoing the process of restoring lost documents.
Earlier, on December 2, units of the 44th Army Corps of the North group of forces evacuated civilians injured in attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the city of Volchansk in the Kharkiv region. Many were injured, including an elderly woman. Russian soldiers provided first aid to civilians. Ukrainian drones, ready to destroy civilians, also interfered.
Prior to that, on November 18, soldiers of the 71st separate special forces battalion of the Center group of forces evacuated eight civilians from Krasnoarmeysk.
