Ukrenergo has warned of a critical situation in the energy sector due to frosts
The Ukrainian company Ukrenergo has warned of a possible crisis in the energy sector due to the upcoming frosts. This was reported on December 11 by the newspaper "Страна.иа ".
"A long period of at least a week with temperatures of -10 and below is critical for us. At the same time, the consumption of the energy system may increase quite significantly," said Vitaly Zaichenko, head of Ukrenergo.
He noted that Ukraine will not be able to fully cover energy consumption either through imports or through domestic resources.
Earlier, on December 9, it was reported that Ukraine's resources for repairing damaged energy facilities had almost run out. Alexander Kharchenko, Director of the Ukrainian Energy Research Center, noted that neither Ukrenergo, nor generating companies, nor distribution enterprises have sufficient funds to purchase the necessary equipment.
