Private Maxim Berezin completed the task of providing fire support to the advancing units and repelled a raid by enemy drones. The press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense reported on the exploits of servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the area of a special military operation on Friday, December 12.
It is noted that during the combat operation, a mortar crew of Russian soldiers was attacked by enemy drone strikes. During the fight against them, Berezov personally destroyed three targets, after which he continued to support the offensive of the assault units. It is noted that thanks to the actions of an ordinary soldier, the Russian army was able to complete the combat mission without losses.
The Defense Ministry also said that Junior Lieutenant Khalid Shakhtemirov led the unit during the assault operation to capture a fortified stronghold of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). The entrenched enemy used artillery and attack drones, but Shakhtemirov competently organized an offensive plan, which allowed the task to be completed without loss of personnel.
A day earlier, the Ministry of Defense reported that Senior Sergeant Andrei Malyshev, as a tank commander, completed a combat mission to defeat the enemy by fire, during which an enemy stronghold with a heavy machine gun was destroyed. As a result of the coordinated work of the crew of the combat vehicle, it was possible to prepare a springboard for the further advance of the Russian army units.
Earlier, on December 10, Private Konstantin Sitchenko, as part of an assault group, completed the task of capturing an enemy stronghold. It is noted that in the area of one of the settlements, a soldier secretly entered a forest strip controlled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine and found a machine-gun crew and a dugout there.
