A New Year's theme page has appeared on the Discover Moscow portal, which contains interesting routes for winter walks, quizzes and audio guides on skating rinks in parks, voiced by artificial intelligence. This was told by Deputy Mayor Natalia Sergunina.

"A series of New Year's routes have united the iconic places of the capital. It was dedicated to the history and traditions of the main winter holiday," Natalia Sergunina noted.

So, the participants of one of the walks will be able to find out why the fir tree became a symbol of the New Year and what role Peter I played in this. Another route is dedicated to literature: here, citizens and guests of the city will be told about how the festive atmosphere in the capital was described in their works by Russian classics, including Maxim Gorky, Ivan Shmelev, Alexander Kuprin.

A series of audio tours using neural networks is dedicated to skating rinks in five city parks. The voice assistant will tell you about the creation and growing popularity of ice playgrounds in the Bauman Garden, Izmailovsky Park and Hermitage Garden, as well as famous visitors to the skating rink in Gorky Park.

Fans of New Year's Soviet films are invited to participate in an educational quiz, during which you can recall vivid episodes from such films as "Carnival Night", "Wizards" and others.

Get to Know Moscow is a joint project of the Moscow departments of Information Technology, Culture, Cultural Heritage, Education and Science. He has been working since 2013. Today, it contains photographs and descriptions of over 3,500 buildings, monuments, historical sites, as well as about 300 walking routes and biographies of more than 330 famous personalities.
