Four people were injured in a gas explosion in the Volgograd region

Four people, including a child, were injured in a gas explosion in an apartment building in Petrovy Val, Volgograd region. This was announced on December 11 in the regional administration.

"According to the information received at the moment, there are four victims — three adults and one child," the administration of the Volgograd region reported.

The explosion occurred in one of the houses on Lenin Street, which led to a partial collapse of the ceilings. The preliminary reason is a violation of the rules of operation of gas equipment. No one lived in the apartment where the gas was depressurized — the neighbors who opened the door with a spare key were blown out and injured.

Rescuers evacuated 48 residents, and medical assistance is being provided to all the injured. The Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case under Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (provision of services that do not meet safety requirements). An investigative and operational group is working on the spot, examinations are being conducted to establish all the circumstances of the incident.
