Toyota has registered four trademarks in Of Russia
Japanese Toyota has submitted applications to the Federal Intellectual Property Service (Rospatent) for trademark registration — Alphard, Celica, Carina, and Vellfire. This was reported by TASS on December 11.
Applications for registration of marks were submitted in March 2025 and November 2024 from Japan. Alphard and Celica expire on March 31, 2035, for Carina — on March 18, 2035, for Vellfire — on November 5, 2034, according to Rospatent data. All these signs are registered according to class No. 12 of the International Classification of Goods and Services (ICTS), which includes, among other things, various types of cars.
Alphard and Vellfire are variations of the same minivan currently produced by Toyota. The Carina model was produced until 2001, the Celica — until 2005, but the Japanese manufacturer plans to revive the popular sports car. Toyota previously registered the Land Cruiser Prado trademark until March 31, 2035.
In September 2022, the Japanese manufacturer announced the cessation of car production at its plant in St. Petersburg, but since 2022 it has submitted 86 applications for trademark registration in the Russian Federation to Rospatent.
On December 5, Toyota unveiled a new supercar called the GR GT. It is the most powerful production road car ever to wear the Toyota logo. It is stated that the car will be equipped with a new 4.0-liter V8 engine with a dual turbo and an eight-speed transmission, which is designed specifically for this model. An electric motor is built into the transmission housing, and the drive is exclusively rear-mounted. Toyota says the GR GT's powertrain will produce a minimum of 650 hp (850 Nm) and a top speed of over 320 km/h.
