The "yellow" level of weather danger due to ice and wind has been announced in Moscow until Saturday, December 13. The Hydrometeorological Center of the Russian Federation reported this on Thursday, December 11.

"The warning period is from 12:00 on December 12 to 00:00 on December 13. There is ice on the roads, sometimes heavy," the Moscow City News agency quotes the message.

The capital will also have a "yellow" danger level due to the wind.

"On December 12 and 13, a northwesterly wind with gusts of 15-17 m/s is expected. There is a snowstorm in some areas in the afternoon and evening of December 12," the Russian Hydrometeorological Center said.

A similar warning will be in effect in the Moscow region.

On the same day, Alexander Shuvalov, head of the Meteo forecasting center, told RT that by the evening of Friday, December 12, a sharp cold snap, a snowstorm and ice on the roads are expected in Moscow. He also noted in an interview with 360.ru It is expected that the first snowstorm of the calendar winter will hit the capital and the Moscow region on Friday. It will get noticeably colder in the afternoon. On the morning of December 12, the thermometer will show +4 degrees, and in the evening it will drop to -4.

Anatoly Tsygankov, head of the Russian Hydrometeorological Service's crisis Management Department, said on December 8 that changeable weather with noticeable temperature fluctuations is expected in Moscow this week. The temperature background will generally remain above the climatic norm and will correspond to the November figures, but the weather will be unstable.
