270 road accidents have occurred in Russia over the past day.
Over the past 24 hours, 270 traffic accidents have occurred on Russian roads, in which 39 people were killed and 324 injured. 29 of the dead were drivers and passengers. This was reported to Izvestia on December 11 by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
As a result of 95 accidents, 54 of which occurred at pedestrian crossings and 41 outside their area of operation, ten pedestrians were killed, 86 more were injured in various degrees of severity. Among the injured were 11 underage pedestrians, seven of whom were injured while crossing the roadway in designated areas. 26 accidents involving minors were registered, in which 26 young road users, including 13 passengers, were injured. There are no dead children. There were 24 accidents involving buses, in which four people were killed, and 37 more road users, including one child, required medical attention. 12 bus accidents were caused by traffic violations committed by their drivers.
In the Belgorod region, a 65-year—old bus driver carrying 12 passengers on the Shebekino- Valuiki route did not take into account the dimensions of his vehicle. The bus left the road and crashed into a tree. Seven passengers were injured in the accident, and after receiving medical treatment, they were sent for outpatient treatment.
In the Chuvash Republic, a 22-year-old passenger car driver with a little more than two years of driving experience skidded uncontrollably into the oncoming lane, where he collided with a bus. As a result of the accident, the driver of the car was killed, and two bus passengers were hospitalized with injuries. The 44-year-old bus driver and two other passengers were referred for outpatient treatment after receiving medical attention.
The State Traffic Inspectorate recommends that bus drivers correctly assess their dimensions and speed, weather conditions, condition and width of the roadway, terrain and the possibility of skidding on a slippery road. They should remember that the skills, driving experience, well-being, law-abiding driving behavior and good technical condition of the vehicle depend not only on their own lives and health, but also on the lives and health of other road users, including passengers.
"We would like to draw the attention of motorists to the fact that in winter you should be extremely careful when driving: refrain from sudden thoughtless maneuvers and realignments, observe the interval and distance between vehicles, and choose the speed limit taking into account weather conditions," the head of the Department of Road Safety Promotion and prevention of children's road accidents reminded drivers of the winter transport department.- Police Colonel Sergey Hrantskevich caused traffic injuries to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
