Images of Animals of the Trans-Baikal Dauria appeared on postage stamps
Images of animals living in the Daursky Reserve in Transbaikalia were placed on postage stamps. On December 11, the Landscapes of Dauria postal block was released, which continued the UNESCO World Heritage Series.
According to the ChitaMedia news agency, on the postage stamp you can see images of a dzeren, a Daurian crane and a silver crucian carp in the vicinity of the Torey Lakes. An envelope from the first day and a special artistic stamp were also put into circulation. It is used to record an important event or date.
The issue has a circulation of 17 thousand units. The cost of one stamp is 80 rubles.
The press service of the Russian Post said that the "Landscapes of Dauria" are considered a unique natural complex. It is the only cross-border UNESCO World Heritage Site in the world. It covers the regions of Transbaikalia and Eastern Mongolia.
The climate of the region is unique, it connects diverse natural areas and landscapes that have preserved their pristine beauty. The pristine ecosystems are home to about 380 species of birds, many of which are endangered, as well as about 50 species of mammals.
Earlier it was reported that a new textbook was developed in Transbaikalia for high school students. It will appear as part of the study of the subject "Transbaikalia Studies". The textbook covers a period of history since 1914. A unique project, the Zabaikalovedenie educational and methodological complex, has been implemented in the region since 2018.
