A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. In addition, the Zapad group of troops continued to destroy the AFU group surrounded on the left bank of the Oskol River, defeated enemy manpower and equipment in the areas of Kupyansk-Uzlovaya, Boguslavka, Novoplatonovka, Kurilovka, Kharkiv region, Krasny Liman of the DPR.

"Units of the Center group of forces continued the destruction of surrounded formations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the residential districts of Vostochny and Zapadny in the village of Dimitrov, as well as the cleansing of the settlements of Svetloye and Grishino in the Donetsk People's Republic. They defeated the manpower and equipment of four mechanized, jaeger, two amphibious assault brigades, three assault regiments of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, two marine brigades, a defense brigade and two National Guard brigades in the areas of the Donetsk People's Republic, the Dnipropetrovsk region. The enemy lost over 415 soldiers," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The Russian army, with the help of aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), missiles and artillery, defeated energy and fuel facilities used in the interests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as temporary locations of Ukrainian armed forces and foreign mercenaries in 152 districts.

In turn, the air defense systems shot down 10 HIMARS multiple rocket launchers manufactured by the United States, a long-range guided missile "Neptune" and 396 aircraft-type drones. Also, the forces of the Russian Black Sea Fleet destroyed a Ukrainian unmanned boat in the central part of the Black Sea.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, since the beginning of the special operation, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost 669 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 101,909 UAVs, 639 anti-aircraft missile systems, 26,495 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,628 multiple rocket launchers, 31,844 field artillery and mortars, and 48,815 special vehicles.
