The State Duma proposed changes to the system of income declaration by officials

On December 10, deputies of the State Duma introduced a bill to improve the system of declaring officials' own income. In particular, the initiative involves moving from annual declarations to requesting them for specific cases. The draft has been published in the electronic database of the State Duma.

"The main goal is to make the system of declaring income, expenses and property control of officials more effective, to increase the efficiency of anti—corruption checks and measures taken, transferring them from periodic to continuous monitoring," wrote Deputy Vasily Piskarev, one of the authors of the initiative, on the Telegram channel.
