In Peru, two miners died in the city of Rosaspamp, and one was trapped for more than 17 hours after the collapse of a coal mine 200 m deep. This was reported on December 10 by the newspaper El Comercio Peru.
"Rescuers of the city, together with the National Police of Peru (PNP), launched an operation when this incident was recorded," the publication says.
It is specified that at the moment the victim is in a medical facility.
Police remain at the scene for further investigation.
Earlier, on November 16, it was reported that more than 30 people died as a result of the collapse of a copper mine site in the south of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. According to the journalist, access to the site was closed due to heavy rains and the risk of a landslide, but the workers ignored the ban and went down into the mine.
