In Russia, from March 1 next year, employers will have the right to terminate an employment contract with a foreign employee on the basis of regional regulatory legal acts. This was announced on December 11 by State Duma Deputy Igor Antropenko, the United Russia party.
"Regional acts will be officially considered the basis for termination of the employment contract from March 1, 2026. If an employer needs to reduce the number of foreign workers, then he will be able to terminate the employment contract in accordance with the regulatory legal acts of the regional level," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
