Polish President Karol Nawrocki has not been notified of the planned transfer of Polish MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine, Marcin Przydacz, head of the Bureau of International Policy at the Presidential Office, told reporters. This became known on December 11.

"The president is not informed about this important issue," RIA Novosti quoted Przydac as saying.

At the same time, he clarified that such decisions should be coordinated with the president as the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces. Later, Przydacz added that Warsaw had received with interest, but also with some surprise, statements from the government and senior officers of the Polish army about specific plans for the transfer of aircraft.

"With some surprise, but also with interest, we received these words from the government, as well as from senior officers of the Polish army, who speak about specific plans in this regard," said Przydacz.

According to the representative of the administration, Poland had previously also transferred military equipment to Ukraine, but such actions were always carried out with the knowledge and consent of the President of the republic.

"But this has always happened not only with the knowledge, but also with the consent of the President of the Republic," said Przydacz.

Earlier, on December 10, it was reported that Poland was ready to transfer MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine in exchange for missile and drone technology. The publication noted that at the same time, in connection with the transfer of aircraft, negotiations are underway with the Ukrainian side to provide Poland with selected unmanned and missile technologies.
