Five people, including two children, died as a result of a fire in the village of Oktemtsy, Khangalassky district of Yakutia. This was announced on December 11 in the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the region in the Telegram channel.

"As a result of the fire, the house and garage were damaged by fire throughout the area. The total area is 127 sq. m. Five victims were found at the fire site, two of them children," the department said.

It is noted that the fire brigade was at the scene 5 minutes after the fire was reported. By the time emergency services arrived, the house and garage were engulfed in flames. Currently, the investigators of the Ministry of Emergency Situations are establishing the causes of the fire.

A day earlier, a fire broke out in a market building in the Nevsky district in St. Petersburg, killing one person. It is noted that rescuers managed to localize the fire on an area of 1.5 thousand square meters. m. 100 people were evacuated from the building. 96 rescuers and 26 pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire.
