The decision of the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) to allow only two Russian skiers to participate in the selection for the 2026 Olympic Games is aimed at splitting the Russian national team and the entire Russian society. This was announced on December 10 by two-time Olympic hockey champion, State Duma deputy Vyacheslav Fetisov.

"It seems to me that they (the FIS leadership. — Ed.) They calculated all this in order to split both society and our team with such handouts. And they showed us our place in a cynical format," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

Fetisov noted that the permission for two athletes is a real mockery.

"Of course, this is important for those athletes who will participate in the selection process for the Olympic Games. And what about those who were not allowed to participate in the qualification, what are they to blame for? This is not a sporting situation," the MP added.

On this day, it became known about the approval of the application of Russian skier Savely Korostelev and skier Daria Nepryaeva for individual neutral status.

Korostelev, commenting on the FIS decision, noted that his debut in the new status will take place in the coming weekend. The next stage of the World Cup, in which Russians will be able to compete, will be held from December 12 to December 14 in Davos, Switzerland.
