The installation of a pontoon bridge on the border with China was completed in the Khabarovsk Territory

The Zhaohe – Pokrovka pontoon bridge across the Ussuri River has been installed in the Khabarovsk Territory. This is reported by the regional Ministry of Transport and Road Management.

"The installation of the pontoon bridge has been completed, now we are waiting for the ice to freeze, after which a technical passage of vehicles will be carried out. After that, the facility should be accepted by a bilateral Chinese-Russian commission," the ministry said in a statement.

The ferry was built from 22 pontoons designed for 100 tons. The total length of the structure is 440 m, writes IA AmurMedia.

The installation of the pontoon ferry was completed on December 9. A month and a half earlier, on October 21, the work of the border crossing was suspended for the off-season period. Now the parties are waiting for the final establishment of the ice cover on the Ussuri. The checkpoint is scheduled to reopen at the end of December.
