Putin has submitted for ratification to the State Duma an agreement on the foundations of relations between Russia and Mali

Russian President Vladimir Putin has submitted to the State Duma for approval an agreement on the foundations of relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Mali. The text of the law was published on December 10 on the website of the legislative support system.

"To ratify the agreement on the foundations of relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Mali, signed in Moscow on June 23, 2025," the document says.

The explanatory note of the agreement states that both sides should develop relations based on respect and observance of their national interests. In addition, there is a focus on the principles of the UN Charter.

On June 23, Russia and Mali signed three agreements on further cooperation in several areas. Thus, the two countries signed an agreement on the establishment of an intergovernmental commission on trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation, an agreement on the foundations of relations between the two countries, as well as an agreement on cooperation in the field of peaceful uses of atomic energy. Following the signing of the documents, Putin expressed gratitude to the head of the transitional period of Mali Assimi Goita and his team for the visit.
