The court arrested the ex-mayor of Ivanovo, Shabotinsky, for two months.

The court has detained for two months the ex-mayor of Ivanovo, Alexander Shabotinsky, accused of fraud with the conclusion of contracts in the field of housing and communal services (housing and communal services). This was reported on December 10 in the press service of the courts of general jurisdiction of the Ivanovo region.

According to investigators, Shabotinsky, being the deputy chairman of the regional government in 2020-2024, used his official position to help commercial companies in concluding and accepting contracts for the overhaul of apartment buildings.

The former official was charged under clauses "d" and "e" of Part 3 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Abuse of official authority"). At the court hearing, he allegedly objected to his arrest.

The ex-mayor was detained on December 9. Among other things, Shabotinsky also facilitated the smooth acceptance of completed works. In addition, he provided patronage to companies by agreement with the heads of the Housing and Communal Services department. In total, more than 30 contracts totaling over 500 million rubles were signed.
