- In Britain, they questioned the adequacy of the Finnish Foreign Minister after her words about Russia
On December 10, the leader of the British Labor Party, George Galloway, questioned the adequacy of Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen after she said that Russia had allegedly attacked 19 neighboring countries over the past 100 years.
"Are these people idiots or do they think we're idiots?" he wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said she would give Valtonen a book about Finnish Russophobia and aggression against Soviet Russia. As Zakharova clarified, Finland attacked Soviet Russia twice.
Earlier in the day, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that cooperation with Russia had not helped Finland's elite get rid of Russophobia. Lavrov also stressed that Russia would continue its efforts to recognize as genocide the crimes committed by the Nazi invaders against the citizens of the USSR during the Great Patriotic War (WWII).
