Since the beginning of the year, 57 local traffic improvement projects have been implemented in the Central Administrative District of the capital. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin told about this in his personal blog.
He noted that six new U-turns have appeared on the Garden Ring this year. To organize them, the road was not expanded — the specialists re-marked the roadway and added special sections at traffic lights.
Waffle markings were applied at three intersections with heavy traffic — in the Zamoskvorechye, Presnensky and Tverskaya areas. It appeared at the intersection of Dubininskaya Street and Paveletskaya Square; Presnensky Val and Malaya Gruzinskaya streets, as well as at the intersection of Dolgorukovskaya Street and Armory Lane.
Dedicated lanes have been added in two locations to improve the movement of urban transport. The first one runs along Bolshaya Polyanka Street from 53c1 to the intersection with Zhitnaya Street. The second one is on Krasnoprudnaya Street (from Komsomolskaya Square to houses 22-24).
In the Tagansky district, in the Projected passage No. 1943, two security islands were set up. They are marked out and help to separate the flows of cars and pedestrians.
On 11 streets, near social facilities, the speed limit for cars was changed, reducing it from 60 to 30 km/h.
