The Chinese Defense Ministry appreciated the joint air patrol with Russia

He said that the joint strategic patrols of China and Russia demonstrate the ability of both sides to jointly respond to regional security challenges. This was announced on December 10 by Zhang Xiaogang, a representative of the Ministry of Defense of the People's Republic of China.

"This joint strategic air patrol, which is an event within the framework of the annual cooperation plan, demonstrates the determination and ability of both sides to jointly respond to the challenges of regional security and maintain regional peace and stability," RIA Novosti quoted the minister as saying.

The Russian Defense Ministry shared that the joint flight lasted about eight hours. Fighter cover was provided by the Russian Su-30SM and Su-35S, as well as the Chinese Jian-16. In some sections of the route, the missile carriers were escorted by fighters from foreign countries.

Earlier, on December 6, the Chinese Ministry of Defense also reported on joint anti-missile exercises with the Russian Federation. It is specified that the event was held in Russia. The Chinese Defense Ministry added that the exercises are purely defensive in nature and do not affect the interests of third countries or the current geopolitical situation.
