A monument to North Korean soldiers who participated in the defense of the region from the invasion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) will be erected in the Kursk region. Alexey Chebanenko, a sculptor at the Grekov Studio of Military Artists, told about this on December 10.

"The monument will be erected in the Kursk region, the specific location has not yet been determined. The work will be carried out by a creative team, we have a large staff," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

Currently, sculptors are choosing the place where the monument will be placed.

"There is some idea of what the monument will look like — these are sketches that need to be linked to the place," Chebanenko said.

On September 3, Russian President Vladimir Putin, taking part in a bilateral meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, which took place after a reception on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the victory over militaristic Japan and the end of World War II, noted the courage of the DPRK military during the liberation of the Kursk region.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on November 14 that Russia expresses gratitude and gratitude to the DPRK for the selfless and heroic help of their sappers in clearing the Kursk region of NATO shells and mines. The Russian Federation appreciates this very much.
