The study showed an increase in interest in jewelry insurance among Russians
There is a growing interest in jewelry insurance in Russia, but this practice remains rare. This was confirmed on December 10 by a joint study by SOKOLOV and AlfaStrakhovanie.
"At the moment, people, as a rule, insure only expensive exclusive jewelry," the Newspaper clarifies.Ru" with reference to the results of the study.
From a survey of 1.5 thousand Russians aged 18-60, it was found out that 27% of the participants insured jewelry at least once. At the same time, 54% stated that they had not taken out insurance before, but were considering such an opportunity, only 2% fully insured their products.
It is noted that the main motive of the respondents is protection from theft (41%) and fear of loss (21%). Another 20% say insurance is mandatory for valuables, 31% say it is useful and worthy of attention, and 29% have not dealt with this issue yet. Additional interest is formed from personal experience: 57% of respondents have lost or damaged jewelry. The risks of theft outside the home (59%) and possible loss in everyday life (56%) are the most alarming.
I agree with the results of the study, Russians consider the optimal cost of insurance in the range of 1-3 thousand rubles per year (39%). Another 31% agree to pay up to 5,000 rubles, while only 6% accept amounts above this level. When choosing which jewelry to insure, wedding and engagement rings (45%), jewelry with precious stones (42%), family heirlooms (35%) and premium watches (30%) are most often mentioned.
Representatives of the 25-44 age group (66%) show the greatest interest in insurance. At the same time, 38% wear expensive jewelry only on special occasions, and 15% — on a daily basis.
Earlier, on December 7, it was reported that Russians are massively complaining about the sale of "fake" gold jewelry. Instead of solid gold, people are being sold hollow products that bend like foil. Buyers will find out the truth only after the jewelry is broken. Hollow rings deform when pressed and are almost beyond repair.
