The Norwegian Foreign Ministry has announced the need to increase the number of staff who have deep knowledge of Russia and speak Russian. The Ministry stressed the importance of such competence against the background of the changed international situation. This was reported on November 9 on the website of the Norwegian government.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs needs more staff with knowledge of Russia and the Russian language... In order for the Foreign Policy service to defend the interests of Norway, we need staff with knowledge of the Russian language and knowledge of Russian society, culture and history. Competencies and knowledge about other Eastern European countries are also important," the publication says.

According to the agency, this has become particularly relevant for Norwegian politics at the moment. It is noted that the reduction of contacts between Oslo and Moscow has only increased the need for specialists capable of analyzing the situation and its impact on Europe and the world.

Earlier, on December 4, it was reported that the first branch of the Russian Educational Agency began operating in New Delhi. At the educational center, Indian students will be able to learn about the study opportunities in Russia. Representatives of the branch will regularly hold presentations of Russian educational programs, open days and educational events.
