The Russian government will allocate 93.979 billion rubles to the Ministry of Finance for the creation of an orbital constellation of communications and broadcasting satellites in geostationary orbit. The corresponding decree was published on December 9 on the official portal of legal information.

The published decree states that the ministry is allowed in 2025 to conclude an agreement with the Kosmicheskaya Svyaz enterprise on the provision of subsidies.

The goal is to create a state-owned civilian satellite constellation, including the necessary insurance, with a final completion date of December 31, 2030.

Earlier, on November 27, it was reported that students of BSTU Voenmeh and a St. Petersburg startup created an ultralight SpaceNet rocket weighing 14 tons thanks to the use of cryogenic composite tanks. The developers noted that such a rocket could become a sought-after solution for the regular launch of small spacecraft, providing flexibility in orbital parameters and competitive launches.
